When is the best time to visit Kenya for a safari?
Kenya is extraordinary year-round, but July–October is peak season for the Great Migration river crossings in the Masai Mara, when 1.5 million wildebeest cross the Mara River. January–February offers excellent wildlife viewing with fewer crowds and better rates. The short dry season (January–February) is particularly good in Amboseli.
How much does a luxury Kenya safari cost?
A quality Kenya safari ranges from USD 300–500 per person per night (mid-range) to USD 800–2,000+ per person per night (ultra-luxury private conservancy camps). A 7-night luxury Masai Mara and Amboseli safari for two typically ranges from USD 8,000–15,000 all-inclusive. We provide detailed cost breakdowns with every proposal.
Do I need a visa to visit Kenya?
Kenya operates an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) system for most nationalities. Apply online at etakenya.go.ke before travel. Approvals typically take 72 hours and cost USD 30. East African Community citizens (Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi) do not require a visa.
Are your itineraries fully customisable?
Entirely. Our published itineraries are a starting point, not a ceiling. We build every journey from a personal consultation — adjusting duration, accommodation level, specific parks, activities, and budget. No two itineraries we deliver are identical.
How does gorilla trekking in Uganda or Rwanda work?
Gorilla trekking requires a permit (USD 700 in Uganda; USD 1,500 in Rwanda) and must be booked months in advance — sometimes 6+ months for peak season. On the day, a ranger leads a group of 8 maximum into the forest to spend exactly one hour with a habituated gorilla family. We handle all permits and logistics as part of every gorilla trekking package.
Can you arrange complete holiday packages including international flights?
Yes — we arrange complete door-to-door packages including international flights from any origin, particularly from the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia. We have strong partnerships with Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Emirates, and Qatar Airways, and can often access group and negotiated rates.
What vaccinations are required for East Africa travel?
We recommend consulting your travel health clinic 6–8 weeks before departure. Yellow fever vaccination is required if arriving from yellow fever endemic countries. Common recommendations include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and anti-malarial medication. Consult your doctor or a travel health specialist for personalised advice.
How do I get from Nairobi to the Masai Mara?
We arrange scheduled or private charter flights from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to the Mara's grass airstrips — a 45-minute flight that is itself an experience. The road alternative (5 hours) is also available and includes a scenic drive across the Rift Valley escarpment.
Do you organise Zanzibar beach holidays?
Yes — Zanzibar is one of our most popular additions to Kenya and Tanzania safaris. We arrange the classic "bush and beach" combination: a Kenya or Tanzania wildlife safari followed by 3–5 nights in a Zanzibar beachfront resort. Zanzibar flights from Nairobi take 1hr 45min; from Dar es Salaam just 30 minutes.
What is included in a typical safari package?
Our packages typically include: all accommodation (from lodge check-in to check-out), full board meals, all game drives with a professional driver-guide, park entry fees, airport transfers, and a 24-hour contact in Kenya. International flights, travel insurance, tips, and personal expenses are usually excluded and itemised separately in your quote.
